Trip to New York and Rhode Island

My school was continuing and I was having lots of fun. One weekend Papa and Joshy uncle decided that we will go to New York … Wow it was great 2 days trip, on the 1st day we went to Statue of liberty. We had to take a boat to reach the statue of liberty which was fun. The same night papa , amma and myself went for a New York night trip on an open top bus… that was fun , by time were back to hotel it was night 2.00 PM. Next day we again went back to New York we went on top of the empire state building and You know I meet king kong and got a picture with him also spend some time in Time square, we also had New York street side food, it was Yummy…. We had a gyro. I liked Time Square so much that I was not ready to come from there and wanted to play…. Also I gave a tough time to Papa and Amma as I was not ready to come back from there. At-last they had to call a taxi (New York’s Yellow Cab) and forcefully made me sit in the car and then I started to cry saying this is not my car ,I was saying “this is not my black car,I want to go in my black car”….. Imagine in New York time square such a situation …. Ha ha ha … of course this spoilt the plan for papa and amma to go to madam tuussauds wax museum. However there is always next time.




Two weeks after our New York trip, we had a trip to Rhode Island near Boston. We were going to Anju Aunt’s and Rikesh uncle house. It was a very long trip. The drive was around 5 hours. Papa brought me a portable DVD player for Car.All the while until I reach the place I was watching Disney and Barbie movies. I had a good time @ their house, we were there only for 1 day and the next day we drove back. On the way we stopped in New Jersey ,a town called Edison. There it was complete Indian street with Indian shops and restaurants. Amma did some shopping and we reached home by night. I love the long drive, u know I can watch the movies I like.

Trip to Philly Zoo and Amish village

It was a good summer day, We decided to go to Philly Zoo, along with (Sam’s family). It was an excellent trip. I saw all the animals and had fun. I mainly liked the Polar bear and the monkeys. In fact I was not ready to come back from the zoo. I gave Amma and papa a tough time to bring me out of zoo, I was crying all the while from Zoo to Home. It was a good trip. I love to go to zoo always






Next weekend we 3 went to Amish village which is next town from where we stay. The people over there were dressed differently and they looked very nice and it was totally a different place. I loved the barn and the horses.

Back after a while - Part 3

Apr 2010:
April is here … and the summer was at its best … daily I got to play with lot of water. U know I used to water the plants , wash the cars etc…This is the month I am flying to US and also will meet papa. WOW , when I see a airplane I say “shaju airplane”, actually I mean “ papa went on plane” .First 2 weeks went by doing all the shopping for US , then the day came where we were flying to Hyderabad to meet Shine peremma (My papa’s sister) .My muthacha and muthachi came 1 day before to say good bye and I played a lot with my muthacha (but for some reason he was not feeling well and was not able to walk properly) , next day we left to Hyderabad , it was tough for poopa and yaya to say goodbye , they we crying when we left , but I was happy as I was going on a airplane and we were @ my peramma’s house in Hyderabad , But for some reason next day me , amma , peremma , siddu chetta and malu (Sanhita) all went to airport and went back to Kerala , our US trip was cancelled . Amma and peremma were much worried and were almost crying and later I came to know muchata was in hospital and Papa also came back from US.



May 2010:
I could not see papa much as he was in hospital with mutacha. In between we celebrated my birthday, but not in a big way, it was just family and I was mostly staying at poopa’s place as amma was also busy at my ettumanoor(papa’s parents’s) house. I used to come once in a week. But then one day we went to airport to pickup peremma , sanil veliachan and malu , I did not understand why .Once I reached my house in ettumanoor , I saw lot of people there and muthachi , amma and all were crying . I did not know what happened , so I went to play with malu , siddu cheta and others and next day I saw they brought mutacha and he was not talking to me or playing with me , that’s when papa told me muthacha has gone for a TATA near umboti (god) and will not be coming back . Next couple of days I had lots of new friends to play and lots of people coming and going at home, but I did not see muthacha anywhere and once in a while I ask “evide mutacha” (where is mutacha and I think my assistant at my home is gone missing).



Jun 2010:
Papa and amma were always busy as we had to leave to US on Jun 7, It was tough again to say good bye to mutachi , poopa , yaya . On Jun 7 we left to US, it was a very long flight but I was a good girl in the flight,also I had my Disney movies in the flight and was quite busy all the way. We came to our new house in Philly, it was totally a different place. Nothing in the house at all and there was NO TV also, it was boring for couple of days, until papa brought TV and I could see my movies. I was seeing amma is always working and we are going to new new and big big shopping with lots of Barbie’s. Amma brought me Barbie as I was a good girl and did not trouble amma. I like this new place.

Jul 2010:
Starting Jul, I need to go to school. My school is Chester brook Academy. It is near or (next door) to papa office.My first day was tough for both papa and amma , They dropped me at school and the teachers asked amma to stay in case of any problem. I was crying the whole day and amma was worried, papa left to office after he dropping us, but after sometime amma called papa and they left. I was playing with other kids and crying in between. From next day papa used to drop me and pick me up in the evening, I was crying daily morning and evening when I see papa coming or going. This continued for 1 week after that I was enjoying my school a lot.In between I met amma’s friends Joshy uncle, priya aunty and Sam who is a good friend of mine now.

Back after a while - Part 2

Feb 2010:
Was a tough month, it was hard to say good bye to school in Pune and to friends aunty’s and uncles’s over there , Actually I was not sure what’s going on ,,,I thought my old folks (papa and amma) are gone crazy. To pack the entire stuffs (which was set properly just couple of months back)and to put it on a truck and send it away, later I understood it was for good and we were in Kerala for a long break, which amma always wanted (btw , if you have ever observed she always want’s a break , I am not sure why ?) just kidding … she deserves it don’t u think so… taking care of me (wow , believe me all that’s a task,now that I have grown up a little) and papa (u can understand, managing him is the last thing I ever want to… he is worse than me sometimes) and the complete house and of course watching all those TV serials… (In papa’s words Junk serials) and I think that is how she might have learnt it - I mean from the serials she watchs which tells break ke baad … dekaiye … , In between papa had to go to Kerala for 1 day as papa’s mutachi said “Bye bye” for the last time , he was upset but he coped up with the situation soon. Hey You know this month I had aksharabyasam now officially eligible to read and write, I wrote the first words sitting in poopa’s lap in a “panachikaad” saraswati temple in kottayam dist in Kerala and at the end of the month papa left to US (sob ... sob ...) we will meet him only in April long time…




Mar 2010:
Wow, March - maybe the best time until now…Had a real gala time of life, nobody to control me or to say anything like (hey Sanju don’t do that or don’t do this) you know why … I was at my poopa’s and yaya’s (my amma’s parents) house… the best place I have been, I am a spoilt princess over there anything I say, no questions asked or told they just execute it, anything I ask I get it. My poppa is cool , he is a person who do not take any worries over his head , he says I have had enough , now I will relax and play with my Kunjulakshmi,,, I miss those bike rides with poopa and to buys chocolates daily and u know what ,,, I do not need to share it with anybody (If anybody say’s I do share  U know I am a good girl at times) and yea inspecting the banana farms daily (I tell poopa that “banana pogam “ means “let’s go to banana”) when I say that , he just runs and take me there , I miss making yaya dance and sing to my tunes and ask her to make things to eat which once it ready , I won’t eat  … u know I am bit naughty , dropping my yaya to school was fun it was her last month at school after which is retiring from her job and my amma got the break which she always wanted only I thing I was missing was my maman. In between we used to go to mutacha and mutachhi’s ( my papa’s parent’s) house, there it was little different , I have relatives from my papa’s side all around our ancestral house , but no body to play with me as I am the youngest over there… so kind of boring u know, but I had mutacha , he was like my assistant (of course only when he was free he was always busy doing something or the other always…) he is a person whom all the people in the village looks up to for any new things which needs to be done and when he is free he used to take me to rides play with me in mud make toys of coconut leaves for me and he calls me kuku, My muthachhi is a homemaker her life is surrounded to temple, prayers, cooking, TV and gossiping…In the long break what we had we did visit many temples many friends and relative’s places even met my poopa’s mother . She is around 90+ yrs old but I was too shy to talk and scared to play with her , she was a very nice to me…

Back after a while - Part 1

Hey beautiful people, I am sure you all are doing great out there…

I am back … Sorry was away for a while (quite a while in fact) , Reason for not updating regularly (Ask my Amma and Papa). In fact I know, they were quite busy with lots of stuffs like relocation from India to US, then a family emergency, then settling in US etc … Yes yes reasons can be found … but the fact is that they were lazy…very lazy in fact ,,, I know they will not agree to it , but fact is a fact . I just hope they are not going to be any more lazy and do things right… and you know now papa has taken the responsibility of keeping my details updated (Hmmm … this is one of the biggest joke, I have heard) let us see how it goes now , Actually I am more worried now , as he does it once and then talks for rest of his life that he did update the blog and you ask him couple of days or months later why you did not keep it updated , he will say ohh u know what , I am sorry chakru (he still call me like that sometimes) , I was busy u know (and busy doing what “Nothing literally nothing” or watching movies or playing or just sleeping) … so let us wait and watch , how the 2010 season of blogging will go…u all have seen the last 3 seasons, hope it will be different and he updates at least once in a month... really hope so (also do not get annoyed with his grammar , I know he is bad at it J, but it’s ok ok ok) “ok ok ok” Is my new phrase , this is what I say when my amma or papa give me lectures on being naughty)



Ohh ya with that now coming back to me … Small updates on what I did until now.

Mar 2009 - Jan 2010:
Busy, stressful and routine life u know … daily morning going to school coming back in the evening …. Play in grounds, writing on the walls with crayons... Watching cartoons… Not seeing amma in the morning (she goes early to work so she can come back and pick me on time and spend good time with me , play with me , read me stories etc ...) and not seeing papa in the evening (I still do not know or understand what he does , but always keeps saying that he does not like this job , this job is not for him but still goes and comes late in the night, not sure if he is going to office or to play), On weekend playing with miri and annaya was really good … also there was a school annual day and I was doing stage show along with miri and annaya … everybody said we 3 rocked the show… I also came to know that annaya is also leaving pune , for sure I will be missing suri uncle , deepti aunty , madhav uncle , taruna aunty , Jacob uncle , ajitha aunty and all the other I know in pune..

I really enjoyed those time, now thinking back I am missing those days and friends.
